We warmly invite you to explore the exhibition created to mark the 125th anniversary of Dr. Irena Białówna’s birth, which presents the life story of one of the most remarkable women of 20th century Białystok. Doctor, social activist, soldier – these are only some of the roles she took on throughout her life. The exhibition guides us through her youth spent in Russia, her move to Białystok, the years of the Second World War, and her post-war activities in Poland. The variety of historical sources used in the process of preparing the exhibition content allows for a fuller picture of the Białystok pediatrician’s life and gives voice to those who had direct contact with her.
